Dubai - 16th March 2011:- Aptec Holdings, one of the largest technology distributors in the Middle East, Pakistan, Turkey & Africa and Symantec jointly celebrated the launch of Aptec Pakistan as the sole Symantec distributor in Pakistan by inviting over 60 partner resellers. Attended by over 120 executives from the channel the event in both Karachi and Lahore was marked as a big success. Aptec launched the two days road-show & seminar along with high executive speakers from Symantec geared up to train resellers on Symantec Products and solution in Pakistan.

Essam Baghdady in his opening word went through industry  trends and market evolution regionally along with a history of Aptec and strategies , “while the IT market showed contracting trends worldwide by 3% and the  European recession was even hit harder  ,the middle East and Africa on the other hand saw a  5% growth  in spite of the worldwide recession  On a positive note the IT spending according to researchers and analysts  hit the bottom and now is on the recovery road  “ commented Baghdady. “Pakistan showed promising indications and the potential growth outlook with the ICT sector is estimated at US$12.8 billion “added Baghdady.

Among the promising trends in the IT market in Pakistan are several healthy signs including an expected growth of 35 % year on year as of 2010, over 150.000 IT professionals employed in the channel, an access of 45 % growth in the software exports, over 2400 cities and towns connected to Internet, over 1500 IT companies working in Pakistan plus services and software exports estimated at US$ 1.4 billion.

Muhammad Tahir, Senior Technical Manager –Symantec gave a technical presentation tackling areas of Symantec security and availability segments. Furthermore he briefly explains the importance and features of Symantec Endpoint protection and suites that are available in security. He also highlighted the significance of Symantec in datacenters and how Symantec can facilitate in technology to make a state-of-the-art datacenter environment.
 Aptec’s and Track‘s Country Manger in Pakistan, Rizwan Ahmed   spoke about Aptec’s activities & programs applied to Pakistan. Similar programs were launched in Saudi during the road show recently running in Riyadh, Jeddah and Khobar. The Saudi road show marked the appointment of Track as Cisco distributor in the kingdom.

Baghdady concluded by stating “our partnership model focus on optimizing availability and ease of transacting business .We therefore stress on partner planning, enablement and joint campaigns. Investment in additional services and technologies can add value to our partner’s offers”
Following Pakistan events in both Karachi & Lahore, Aptec will be launching new branches in Azerbaijan by organizing a big event and a Cisco launch to meet with resellers and inaugurate Aptec new office in Baku.
